joined Cooperstown
Championship Tournament
held in Cooperstown, New York State. Total of 25 Junior teams (12 years old)
nationwide from 11 states joined the a week long tournament. They are not
selected by each state but volutarily joined this popular nationwide
tournament.

Star Village. They flew from San Francisco to
Buffalo on Wednesday, relaxed a day at Niagara Fall and drove to Cooperstown
on Friday which was 3.5 hours of driving.

changed to Cooperstown uniform as soon as they checked-in to the Village.

During
their tournament days (6 nights), all boys stayed in this Player Village
bunker bedrooms, apart from parents always. Parents stayed in seperate
hotel/motels nearby and could see their kids only once for 5-10 min. after
each game. Coaches didn't want kids influenced by parents mentally.

The
Village has 8 wonderful well maintained baseball fields (4 x 2) designed for
junior players.

They showed up to the field after the final match to present awards.
These
are 25 teams played the tournaments at first. The teams crossed by red lines
have dropped out after 6 games of pre-screening games in first 3 days (7/15
- 7/17). "RECORD" shows the WIN-LOST of 6 games. Phantoms Team won
5 games and lost 1 game, and became the 3rd place out of 25 teams, which was
a really great and wonderful performance unexpectedly.
These
are scores of Phantoms Team. They played 10 games including final
championship game and won 8 games loosing only 2 games. How about 10:0,
11:0, 13:3, 12:4 and 11:1 scores of Game # 2, 4, 3, 5 and 7.
These
were Cooperstown
Championship Tournament
by 16 teams after 3 days of pre-screening games. Unfortunately, Phantoms
lost the final Championship Turnament to #1 Tennessee
Baseball Club,
which was the strongest team among 25 teams, and took 2nd. Place as the
Runner-up which was still unexpectedly wonderful achievement.
